Arsene Wenger is desperate to keep his star player at Emirates Stadium and ready to Offer Olivier Giroud an improved contract, according to the Guardian reports.
Earlier this week French manager has confirmed that Spanish international midfielder Santi Cazorla and club’s captain Per Mertesacker are on the verge to commit their future with the Gunners.
And now the 6ft4 striker Olivier Giroud could be next after Frenchman confirming that he is ready to sign a new deal with the club.
“We are about to reach an agreement for an extension [to my contract]. It was also a gesture of confidence; I want to continue the adventure here in this family of Arsenal. I feel good here.”
So far this term former Montpelier star has struggled to play first-team football under Arsene Wenger due to injury problems and he’s time has been also limited by the emergence of Copa America winner Alexis Sanchez as Wenger’s first choice up front.
Despite his time has been limited Frenchman still managed with scoring several late winners and equalisers for Arsenal that force Wenger to return him to the starting XI and now he is ready to offer a contract extension.
Former Montpelier forward has managed to score six league goals and provided 4 assists so far this season.
