Chelsea have been long-term admirers of the 25-year-old Napoli Centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and reports from Italy suggest that they are ready to break the bank and offer Club Record £60m for Senegalese international star.
As Per Telegraph reports Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is a huge admirer of the 25-year-old defender and identified him as the successor of club’s captain John Terry, who is seeing his final year of the contract.
It’s believed that Italian manager could change his formation to include a back-three if Koulibaly agrees to join Chelsea.
Senegalese International defender has made 81 appearances for Napoli Since making his Serie A debut back in 2014 and despite De Laurentiis desire to keep key players in team Koulibaly revealed that he planning to leave Italian giants in the summer.
Chelsea’s previous club-record transfer was for Spain international forward Fernando Torres who joined the club for a reported fee of £50m from Merseyside Reds back in January of 2011.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have joined Arsenal in the race for Germany international defender Skhordan Mustafi as they have identified him as an alternative for Koulibaly.
