Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and John Terry expect to sign a new deal with the club before the end of the season, according to reports
The veteran skipper has appeared in just 366 minutes of Premier League action this season, while he has also made four starts in the FA Cup and League Cup respectively, but will be offered a new one-year deal, as per talkSPORT.
West Bromwich Albion and Bournemouth tested the waters with the 36-year-old centre-back in January and were thought to be lining up a summer move for the former England captain but it now appears his Chelsea could be prolonged.
When quizzed on the speculation on Friday, manager Antonio Conte told reporters: “John knows my thoughts about him and I think the most important thing is this.”
The Belgian winger meanwhile has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid and the Blues are determined to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge to cool down the interest from Zinedine Zidane’s side.
Asked by Belgian journalist Claude Atcheba if he would be interested in a summer move to Spain, following Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace on Saturday, Hazard laughed and replied: “Why do you want to put me in s—? No, I’m very well here. I have stuff to finish this year. I have a contract until 2020. For now I’m here.”
The 2015 PFA Player of the Year has been huge for Chelsea this season and has had a hand in 17 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions so far and a new contract could see him earning £300,000-per-week at London club.
