Chelsea are preparing to rival Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona for the services of Gremio star Arthur, according to reports.
The Brazilian midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Barcelona, with he has been already compared to Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez.
The 21-year-old midfielder has recently being pictured wearing a Barcelona shirt and standing alongside a representative of the Catalan giants.
Despite that, a deal has not been reached.
The player himself said: ‘On the Barcelona matter, they did speak with me. We had a meeting, but I want to say that there’s nothing final.
‘Nothing has been defined and I did not sign anything. I am a Gremio player.’
The contact with the Catalan giants has angered Gremio, which could open the door to Manchester United Chelsea and Arsenal.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea bos Antonio Conte has identified him as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas.
Arsenal are keen on to replace Mesut Ozil with him with German playmaker is expected to leave the club.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho seems to be dissapointed with the current form of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and could try to make an approach for Arthur in order to add creativity to his squad in January.
Arthur has a £44million release clause which makes the Gremio star a viable option – possibly as early as the January transfer window.
