Chelsea have made an approach for Sevilla shot-stopper Sergio Rico, according to the reports from Spain.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper has made 128 appearances for Sevilla, and now he has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge as Antonio Conte identified him as a replacement for Asmir Begovic.

According to the Marca reports, the Blues have asked about the availability of 23-year-old goalie, with Antonio Conte is on a hunt for a new stopper.

Bosnian keeper Begovic has completed a move to Bournemouth last month, and now Chelsea are currently without a backup option for Thibaut Courtois,

Spaniard has £26million release clause in his current deal at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

Thibaut Courtois is expected to remain at Stamford Bridge next season which means that Sergio Rico would likely arrive in London as the second-choice ‘stopper.

Former Manchester City’s goalkeeper Willy Caballero is also on top of Antonio Conte’s wishlist, The Argentinian stopper who is currently a free agent and seems to be a cheaper option than Sergio Rico. However, Spaniard has been one of the top players in La Liga and could be an ideal replacement for Thibaut Courtois if he decides to leave the club this summer.
