Chelsea starlet Daishawn Redan has revealed the reason why he turned down Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
The 16-year-old Dutch forward was one of the most sought-after players in Europe after impressing for Ajax attracted interested from a host of Europan giants.
Manchester United have been on an academy recruitment drive in the last 18 months and had offered Dutchman a trial, however; he has opted by signing for defending Premier League champions.
Redan was impressed with the Red Devils facilities. However, the Blues matched the Red Devils’ offer, and the teenager has chosen to make a switch to Stamford Bridge side.
‘I looked at three clubs: Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham,’ Redan told Ajax Showtime.
‘Manchester United was fine, but at Chelsea, it was ‘wow’. The complex, the fields, I just saw how professional it all was.
‘I was really impressed at Chelsea. I want to develop into a big, strong striker who is also good at playing football.”
This Dutch campaign starlet has scored three goals for the Blues u-18 side in just four appearances.
