Bayern Munich centre-back Mats Hummels has backed Jurgen Klopp to return Liverpool back on tracks after a slow start in the Premier League.
The Merseyside Reds have won once in the last seven games in all competitions, leaving them seventh in the English top-tier and already seven points behind from Premier League leaders Manchester United and Manchester City.
The Reds return to action with a home match against Manchester United, and Bayern Munich centre-back, who won two Bundesliga titles under Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund has backed him to bounce back.
“I’m following Jurgen Klopp really closely because of the seven years we had when he coached me at Borussia Dortmund,” he told Sky Sports News. “I was really happy when he had a good start this year, but right now it looks a little tough for him and the club.
“But he and the team will get out of this situation, it’s not too bad but it’s not as good as they wanted it to be.”
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Mats Hummels could be reunited next season with Bayern Munich have identified German manager as a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti who has been recently sacked by Bavarians.
