La Liga giants Barcelona have proposed a swap deal involving Liverpool’s Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho, according to the reports from Spain.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a switch to Nou Camp all summer long and expected to return to his head in January.
The Catalan giants have tabled three bids for former Inter Milan midfielder in the summer. However, the Reds stood firm and kept hold of their star player, despite Coutinho handing in a transfer request in order to force transfer to Nou Camp.
Reports have now suggested that former Inter Milan man could join Barca in January when the transfer window re-opens.
And according to Don Balon, Spanish giants are trying to lower the Merseyside Reds asking price for Philippe Coutinho.
Liverpool are believed to demanding fee around £133m (€150m) for the Brazilian midfielder.
Barca have instead offered Andre Gomes in a player-plus-cash deal.
However, Don Balon say that the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is not keen with the idea.
They reckon other Barca stars such as Aleix Vidal, Rafina or former Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan could be used instead of Portuguese star.
Former Liverpool forward Luis Suarez has recently dropped a hint over Brazilian midfielders future.
“I know him as a person and as a player because I played with him, but everyone knows what Coutinho can contribute.
“He is a footballer, who today, plays at a very high level.”
