Arsene Wenger had high praise for Russian playmaker Aleksandr Golovin after his performance for CSKA Moscow against the Gunners in the Europe League game.
Golovin performed well over two legs against Arsene Wenger’s side, and even managed to grab the Russian side’s only goal during the trip to Emirates Stadium.
However, despite his solid performances, the Gunners head-coach isn’t currently interested in signing of the 21-year-old Russian playmaker.
‘I would say Golovin is a very interesting player,’ Wenger said. ‘He had an outstanding game tonight again.
‘But at the moment we are not in transfer mode. I would say that I couldn’t see one bad player in CSKA Moscow tonight.’
The Gunners’ 6-3 aggregate win over Russian club has ensured their place in the last four of the Europa League. where the Gunenrs will face the Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
Before their Europa League semi-final, the Gunners next task is preparing for next fixture in the Premier League to bounce back after a 1-2 defeat to Newcastle United.
Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger will continue to keep close tabs on Golovin ahead of potential move in the summer.
