Manchester City ready to deal another transfer blow to their English rivals by signing Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar, according to reports.
The French midfielder was the name on everyone’s wish-list last summer after a number of Premier League clubs chased his signature.
The Gunners had a £90m offer fall through on deadline day after the player turned down the club.
The Reds also had at least one bid turned down, and are reportedly still chasing a move for the 22-year-old.
Liverpool have yet to replace Brazilian Philippe Coutinho, who left for Barcelona in January for £142m.
Chelsea have also reportedly kept the Monaco star as a possible successor to Eden Hazard, who continues to caught attention from Real Madrid.
As reported Telegraph, these clubs will end up downhearted as City entered the race for the former Caen wonderkid.
Thomas is expected to leave the French club champions this summer, and with two years left on his contract the English outlet Telegraph report, it is unclear whether The Citizens will match Arsenal’s bid last summer.
Pep Guardiola has spent £448m since he was assigned and has already announced that he only sees a couple of additions this summer.
One of those is heavily supposed to be Shakhtar Donetsk Brazilia star Fred, who will substitute the outgoing Yaya Toure.
