Arsenal are reportedly ready to pay Barcelona attacker Jose Arnaiz’s release clause as Arsene Wenger sees him as a long-term replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
The Daily Mirror claim that Chilean superstar has agreed to join Manchester City for free next season, so it may be that Arsene Wenger wants to start preparing for the life without Alexis Sanchez.
According to Marca, the Gunners head-coach is seriously considering a January move for highly-rated Spanish attacker Jose Arnaiz in that position after some impressive performances this campaign.
The report claims that Arsene Wenger’s side could even be prepared to meet his £17million release clause to lure him at Emirates Stadium.
The 22-year-old Spaniard is not a regular for Barcelona, however, has been given some chances to impress at the Spanish Cup (Copa del Rey).
Capable of playing a variety of attacking roles, Arnaiz could be a perfect long-term replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
Arsenal supporters will certainly be hoping for some bigger names arriving at Emirates Stadium as it looks increasingly likely that Sanchez will leave at the end of his current deal.
