Arsenal have offered £27m for Boca Juniors for Cristian Pavon during the January and they are still keen on to lure Argentine international striker at Emirates Stadium this summer.
The 22-year-old South American forward was a surprise inclusion in Argentina’s starting lineup for their dramatic World Cup game with France last night, getting the nod over Man City forward Sergio Aguero and Juventus attacker Gonzalo Higuain as the Albiceleste were beaten 4-3 and being eliminated from the tournaments.
And now Spanish media outlet AS have linked Arsenal with €30m (£27m) move for Pavon with Unai Emery thought to be a huge fan of Argentine talent.
It is expected more teams will join the race to sign 22-year-old forward after the World Cup, however, Boca Juniors are in no rush to sell him.
Argentine international forward has made over 60 appearances for the legendary Argentine club since his debut back in 2014 and has found back of the net 17 times in that period.
He has signed a new contract last term and his current deal runs until 2022.
New head-coach Unai Emery has already overseen the arrivals of Juventus right-back Stephen Lichtsteiner for free and Bayer Leverkusen stopper Bernd Leno for £19m this summer.
