Bordeaux attacker Malcom has claimed that he wanted to leave the French side in the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old was understood to be a target for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, however, the Ligue 1 side rejected to entertain any offers for their footballer.
Malcom has now announced that, although still wanting to move to a bigger side, he will give his all for Bordeaux until the end of the campaign before considering his opportunities.
“I wanted to leave, I tell the truth,” the Brazilian told to Telefoot. “It’s my dream to progress in my career.
“I spoke with the president [Stephane Martin], he told me that he knew it was my dream, but that he needed me.
“I told him he could count on me until the end [of the season]. I will do everything to bring Bordeaux to the top six in Ligue 1.”
He is, yet to be capped at senior international level by Brazil, is believed to be rated at £45m by Bordeaux.
Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Ian Wright has blamed Arsene Wenger of ‘destroying’ Alexandre Lacazette‘s faith at the club this campaign.
“He [Lacazette] has played well in games, he has scored goals, but he has been taken off, Wenger has destroyed Lacazette’s confidence.” – said Wright.
