Arsenal long-term target Faouzi Ghoulam has rejected the latest contract offer from Serie A giants Napoli.
The Algerian left-back has only one year remaining on his current deal with Napoli and Arsenal are on alert as they are searching a long-term replacement for Nacho Monreal.
Napoli likely to fail and reach an agreement with a defender and it has been suggested that they will be forced to cash in on him during the summer transfer window with Arsenal and their London rivals Chelsea are very keen on to secure defenders services.
And the Premier League giants have received a boost after it was reported that Ghoulam rejected his latest contract offer from Napoli,
According to the Calciomercato reports Algerian star wants £2.1m per year, however, Napoli only managed to offer him around £1.7m salary.
That has left his future up in the air, and the chasing pack may now consider a formal offer for the former Saint-Etienne defender.
The 26-year-old full-back has been one of the key players for Napoli’s defence and would perfectly fit in Arsene Wenger’s starting XI despite Nacho Monreal’s decent form in the recent games.
