Unai Emery Refusing to Sign 26-year-old Premier League Defensive Rock

Arsenal boss UNAI EMERY has decided against continuing the Gunners pursuit of Brighton and Hove Albion centre-back Lewis Dunk.

Brighton’s star has impressed in his first full campaign in the English top-tier and has attracted interest from hosts of European clubs including Arsenal.

The 26-year-old centre-back has been at the seaside club his entire career and now his name has been linked with a possible move to the North London club.

The former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wanted Dunk to sign for the Gunners this summer but Unai Emery is against to get the deal done for 26-year-old Englishman despite his fine form last term.

The Spaniard has rejected the prospect of moving for Lewis Dunk.

And instead, Emery looks to sign a world-class centre-back to pair him with Laurent Koscielny in the Gunners defensive area after Frenchman provided positive update over his injury.

Stephan Lichsteiner has joined the Gunners as a free agent from Juventus, while Brand Leno has been the only signing this summer has been made by former PSG boss thus far.

Dunk, meanwhile, is now due back for pre-season training with Brighton.

Deal Agreed: Barcelona Wonderkid Closing in on a Move to Arsenal

Barcelona starlet Joel Lopez has reportedly agreed on a deal to join the Premier League giants Arsenal this summer.

Lopez, who plays for the Catalans Under-16s team, has rejected a new contract offer from the La Liga champions who were believed to be desperate to keep him at La Masia.

The 16-year-old defender has joined Barcelona at the age oft seven. However, Sport reports that he is hopeful a move away from Barcelona will improve his playing prospects.

The Gunners head of recruitment Raul Sanllehi is believed to have been integral to completing the deal, having left the Catalans for Arsenal at the start of the year.

The Gunners will only have to pay a compensation fee for Spaniard’s signature due to the teenager being out of contract at Nou Camp.

The Gunners have also been closing in on a deal for Paris Saint-Germain’s wonderkid Yacine Adli.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been active this summer already finalising the transfer of Stefan Licssteiner who joined the club as a free agent from Juventus and are on the brink to announce the transfer of German goalie Brand Leno.

Deal On: Arsenal Set to Meet the Agent of 25-year-old Brazilian Attacker

Liverpool and Arsenal have made enquiries with the representatives of Brazilian midfielder Bernard who has been a free agent.

The ex-Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder is now without a team after his five-year deal in Ukraine expired.

The 25-year-old midfielder is weighing up his options as he wants the new challenge.

And a number of teams across Europe have been sounded out over potential move.

West Ham and Chinese Super League teams have also expressed interest in Brazilian star.

However, the most high-profile approaches appear to have come from English top-tier big boys Liverpool and Arsenal.

The two English teams have made enquiries, according to the Brazilian outlet UOL, with Bernard is available for free.

However, neither Liverpool or Arsenal are believed to have followed up their advances with proposals.

It is reported Bernard had hoped to have attracted more offers from top European teams.

Liverpool and Arsenal’s Premier League rivals West Ham United cannot offer that after they finished 13 in the English top-tier.

UOL add Bernard is still considering a move to West Ham but now Arsenal and Liverpool have joined the race of his signature.
