Arsenal will look to add another promising talent, Abdou Diallo. Mainz and France defender Abdou Diallo has been earmarked as an ideal addition to the squad. Diallo, 21, is a left-footed centre-back who is also capable of playing as a left back. A French Under-21, Diallo captains his national team and has proved for both club and country he has a nack of scoring goals.
In 14 appearances for Mainz, this season sensible and disciplined defender found the back of the net on two games. Previously with French Champions AS Monaco, Diallo played a small role in Leonardo Jardim’s squad claiming the Ligue 1 title last campaign. Playing just five games in the league, Diallo also made one Champions League appearances.
The report claims that Bundesliga outfits Mainz would be reluctant to sell the French defender having only signed him last summer, however, a transfer at the end of the campaign could be possible if they receive a substantial offer.
French defender could be viewed as a long-term replacement for club captain Per Mertesacker. Çağlar Söyüncü is also being on radar of Unai Emery.
