Arsenal are reportedly on the verge of signing Cristian Pavon from Boca Juniors after the London club decided to pay players £27m release clause.
The 21-year-old Argentine winger has emerged as Arsene Wenger’s top transfer target to replace Alexis Sanchez, who is closing in on a switch to direct Premier League rivals Manchester City.
The Gunners will use reported £35m fee for Alexis Sanchez’s to sign Pavon and, according to TyC Sports, an announcement could be made next week.
Boca Juniors are believed to have been hoping to keep the Argentina international forward at the club until the summer. However, the Gunners have played a part in bringing the move Boca’s winger by five months, as he is worried the player’s valuation will only increase with time.
The 21-year-old forward also linked with Man City in the past. However, the Citizens looks like to finalising a deal for Arsenal superstar who has six months year left on his current deal at Emirates Stadium
Meanwhile, Arsenal also planning to make a big money move for AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar who is believed to be valued at £90m.
