Arsenal are ramping up their efforts to land 15-year-old Barcelona ace Robert Navarro, and they could make their move now he has turned 16 years old.
Manchester City were earlier seen as frontrunners to land the player from the great La Masia academy in Barcelona but have apparently cooled off on making a move and now, according to the Mail, the Gunners are in the hunt and set to step up their efforts.
The Catalans have also offered Navarro new terms in the wish of convincing him to remain in Spain and continue his development at their academy.
The attacking midfielder is considered as one of La Masia’s brightest prospects, however, could follow some ex-teammates out of the door of the club and ply their trades elsewhere.
The likes of Adama Traore, Alex Grimaldo and Gerard Gumbau have all left La Masia and opted not to remain to effort and make the first team at Barcelona.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger will be looking to leave a legacy behind when he eventually departs the Emirates Stadium who knows when and Navarro may well be the ideal parting gift that could come to fruition in a few years time.
