Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City have sent scouts to watch Sassuolo midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini in action.
The midfielder who has been in fine form has attracted interest from hosts of European clubs including Chelsea.
Serie A defending champions Juventus and Inter Milan are also keeping tabs on the 20-year-old midfielder while Roma – who sold Pellegrini to Sassuolo are ready to pay £8.5m to re-sign him in the summer.
However, the Italian teams look as though they will face competition from Premier League clubs, according to Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea and Manchester City have sent scouts to watch midfielder in action.
The U-21 Italy international is believed to have attracted the attention of the Premier League pair who have stepped up their interest for Pellegrini.
The fact they can activate a buy-out clause for Pellegrini, Roma are seen as the frontrunners to sign him. However, Chelsea are determined to strengthen midfield options with Nemanja Matic is expected to leave the club in the summer.
There is nothing to stop the midfielder to turn down offers from Roma in order to make move to Premier League.
