Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is demanding to meet Sergi Roberto’s £36million release clause and lure Spaniard at Stamford Bridge.
The 25-year-old versatile midfielder is down the pecking order at Nou Camp following the arrival of Nelson Semedo and hosts of Spanish reports linking him with a move to Premier League.
The Spaniard has a £36million release clause in his current deal with the La Liga giants and Antonio Conte is demanding to sign him before the end of the summer transfer window.
Juventus and Man Utd are also keen on to sign Spanish midfielder who has played last season on the right-back position, but Conte wants Chelsea to swoop in before the European giants make a move for his signature.
Roberto has been primarily used as a fullback and Conte is planning to use him on the similar position as he sees him as a perfect replacement for Victor Moses.
The Spaniard is happy to stay at Barcelona, however, with a move to Chelsea he might be offered a huge pay rise and guaranteed regular first-team football.
Sport report that Roberto’s agent will meet with the Barcelona chiefs over Spaniard’s future.
United’s first choice right-back, Antonio Valencia, turned 32 and Jose Mourinho also is keen on to sign Roberto and ready to rival Chelsea in his signature.
