Barcelona sar Jordi Alba has expressed his frustration at his lack of playing time at the club this season, amid interest from Manchester United and Chelsea
The Spanish international has been an integral part of Barcelona’s recent success since his return to Camp Nou from Valencia following Euro 2012.
And France Football (via Daily Star) previously claimed the 28-year-old could be on his way out of Camp Nou in the near future and Premier League giants are keeping tabs on left-back.
Alba, however, fuelled the speculations and admitted that he’s unhappy because of lack his playing time this season.
‘It’s clear that, the more I play, the better,’ he said.
‘My dream has always been to play here and stay at Barcelona for a long time.
‘We haven’t spoken about it, but a footballer always wants to play and I have not played as much as I’ve wanted to.
‘I don’t want to look for excuses but at least I’m currently getting game time and I want to win La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
The Red Devils have a problem at left-back. England star Luke Shaw, wo has suffered another injury at the weekend, is out of favour under Jose Mourinho meaning Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young have filled in for much of the season.
Antonio Conte is also desperate to strengthen his defensive ranks following his stunning first season in England. The left side of the defence is the area in the Blues squad that need more strengthening than any other, as there’s only one recognised left-back at Stamford Bridge – Marcos Alonso.
Alba, who is under contract until 2020 with a buyout clause of £130m, has won 12 trophies with the Blaugrana, including La Liga, the Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.
